Ethan writing you from Barcelona where there were recently some terrorist attacks from the 16th - 18th of August, 2017. Fortunately, I was not personally affected, but these tragic events definitely got me thinking, and that's what we discuss in this episode of the RealLife English Podcast.

The headlines all say some variation of "14 Dead in the Attacks in Barcelona." And although this is effective and impactful to see at the front of the newspaper, it is way too impersonal.

Don't think of 14 dead. Think of the 14 individuals, each with a name, a face, a family--and perhaps more importantly--dreams that now they will never have the possibility to accomplish. Their potential was stolen from them, but you and I are still here. And you and I need to remember that our time, our potential, our dreams can be taken at any moment. We have to act NOW. By telling ourselves that we will have time tomorrow, or next week, or next year to achieve our dreams we avoid the reality that the victim yesterday could have been you or me. And it is a disrespect to those that did have their dreams stolen from them yesterday if you and I don't at least try to make ours a reality today.

I truly send my heart out to any of you affected by the events here in Barcelona, or anywhere else. Here we might say, "Tots units fem força," -- united we are stronger! And it's never more than in times of tragedy that we see how real this is. Together we will not give up in the face of a few cruel individuals. Together we can make our dreams a reality. Together we can make a better tomorrow.

Let's continue the good fight together, you and I! Much love from Barcelona️ ❤️!

If you master the skill that we will talk about in this episode of the RealLife English Podcast, you will be perceived as fluent. But do you have the guts [bravery] to do it? Aww yeah! Are you ready to go BEYOND the boring traditional methods and learn English like the natives do--by USING it?!?

Without a doubt, the most successful English learners I have met completely surround themselves with the language. They create an environment and lifestyle that mimics the experience one might have if she were living in an English speaking country. And without a doubt, this is a HUGE key to success with learning. It is moving past the ways you were told to learn the language, and making it a part of your everyday life that you don't even really have to think about.

It is simple, it is fun, and although it is not always easy, it is extremely fulfilling. But in this episode, Justin and Ethan will make it more effortless with tons of new tips and resources. Are you ready? Then press play!

Like any other language, English is filled with so many slang expressions and rude terms, most revolving around human genitalia.

Humans tend to find lots of interesting ways to use sexual organs to describe how they are feeling, from anger to extreme joy and delight. Although this is not always the most appropriate language to use around certain people, knowing these expressions can give you great insight into the English language and expose you to the more creative side of common colloquialisms.

In this episode of the podcast we are going to explore testicles. All the different ways we refer to these man parts, and how we can use them in everyday speech to reference courage, commitment, excitement and much more.

  • The importance of learning to listen and imitate the rhythmic patterns of native speakers
  • Is it okay to practice your English with other non-native speakers and learners?
